Not one of my friends that are at Sundance right now are willing to stalk, drug, and return to Brooklyn with Michael Fassbender for me. My sister and I have come to the consensus that I need better friends.
Good friends give you an alibi. Great friends help you hide the body. Best friends capture and hold hostage hollywood hotties.
WAIT, JANETHA LIVES close to Sundance. Oh, Janeeeethhhhaaaaaa, I have a small favor to ask of you. I promise it won’t take long. OH SNAP!! She also has a basset!! TRACKING DOG!!! I had a basset! They’ll do ANYTHING for a treat. Like find a certain german/irish actor…..
Alas, instead I am cleaning my house and pinning stuff to my “home sweet domicile” pinboard. I’ll be honest, it’s all gray, white, and beige. I’m hopelessly devoted to that color scheme. As I lie upon my white duvet cover with gray throw and gray and white pillows with my wood floors and beige flokati rug. hope.less.
White just feels like it has so much potential and it has the ambiance that it’s so clean. No past. All future. Untainted. Possibilities without complication.
Most importantly…you can bleach the ever loving shit out of it when you inevitably mar it with the red wine you are drinking because you realize you aren’t all future with no past. Or you might just be drinking the red wine because no matter how much you try to drink white wine instead to prevent dental stains you just really love red wine, and dammit, it tastes effing delicious. Not at all like the vinegar your mother compares it to. But who is she to judge? She drinks $4 peach wine with margarita chasers.
Moving on.
It’s SUNDAY, you scamps!! SUNDAY SWEETTTTTTT!!!!
This is going to be called my “sell-out” cookie. Why? Because for years I have made fun of peanut butter blossoms, which are those peanut butter cookies with the kiss in the center. I’ve railed about how generic they’ve become, and how I think they’re crap.
Insert foot in mouth. My son saw someone with them at school and simply had to have them.
But I still hate them. Enter my idea. Maybe they DON’T have to suck. Maybe, just maybe I could make a GOOD cookie as the base, and top them with a more desirable kiss….or “hug” as it were.
I made a FLAVORFUL, soft sugar cookie, extra vanilla-y, and topped it with a hug. Let me tell you, they’re good. So good. Unexpectedly good. I made a few for the Captain with homemade, organic, dark chocolate kisses because of his lactose/dairy issue and THOSE were great. I was floored at just how much a few changes to an idea had on the ultimate outcome.
