Taking a Backseat….and Not In The Fun Way

Today is going to be the shortest post ever. It will rival even my Sunday Sweet posts. As is usual per the first year of preschool, my son has brought home every bug known to man. That coughing bug I mentioned last week? The one where I wanted to throttle the parent for inflicting upon the kids? It hasĀ metastasizedĀ into something nasty in my Peanut. All of the hacking and lack of appetite has just caught up with her today, and the poor thing is just a ball of ick.

Every once in a while, blogging needs to take a backseat. My priority is my family. My Peanut needs me.

It’s breaking my heart to see her so. Alas, I’m going to give you an AWESOME recipe, full of zinc, which is a natural cold-fighter, and hope the lot of you stay healthy this cold and flu season. As for me, I’m going to rock my Peanut, and shove high-calorie liquids down her throat.

Today’s recipe is another super easy one, but also SOOO good. Lately, I’ve noticed I’ve jumped back on the high-carb train, and that needs to be cut the hell out. My body is craving protein and fat so hard it’s like a lighthouse to my brain when I see it.

Spicy Sweet Glazed Nuts

These are ridiculously easy. What you’re going to do is take 2 cups of mixed, raw nuts, lay them onto a cookie sheet, spray them with cooking spray, sprinkle them with cayenne pepper, pumpkin pie spice, salt and pepper, drizzle them with honey, toss them, and roast for 15 minutes at 375F tossing half way through.
