Sunday Sweet!

Good Morning, you scamps! I haven’t had a second to breathe this entire weekend, and I am looking forward to just relaxing today. So, of course, I will be grocery shopping, pre-school shopping, going to a fitting, and trying to rip out my ovaries with a spoon through my belly button. At least I’ll try. Really, they just cause me grief. If you see an extra bitchy woman begging people to give her a hysterectomy at Trader Joes, that’ll be me.

I had the awesome opportunity to attend a fantastic class at Physique 57 on Friday, and I’ve been going strong ever since. (more on that class in tomorrow’s post. Today is family and subsequent at-home hysterectomy day). Meghann, penned a fab recap/review, and she’s pretty boss, (and so, so awesome in person) I suggest you headeth over that-a-way.

Today’s Sunday Sweet is a natural at-home hysterectomy prevention tool. Did you know watermelon helps with water retention and cramps? Yup. It’s also full of fancy vitamins and minerals, and tastes fab with most liquors,…except for rum, because nothing tastes good with rum.

Agua Fresca is a popular beverage in Mexico, it’s typically very sweet fruit, water, and sugar. My version mainly relies on the natural sweetness of the fruit with just a little bit of extra help.

Strawberry and Watermelon Agua Fresca

To make this perfectly, you first slice your melon and berries and put them in a 2qt pitcher. Drizzle agave syrup over the fruit, and refrigerate it overnight, add ice cold water, and refrigerate it for 4 more hours. Serve it. Add mint. Add vodka. Preferably Tito’s. Imbibe.

oooh it is so popular in GUATEMALA TOO!!

and I love when you call me scamp.

    • it is truly delicious. I made another batch last night, no agave, just water, watermelon, and strawberries….I liked it even more than the sweeter variety. It tasted like “hint” water…only cheaper. Thinking of doing pineapple lime today.
