Before I post anything, let me tell you, if you like my facebook page, there is some exclusive content happening there right now.
This morning I woke up to multiple, hand-drawn pictures from the Captain to me, and a lovely card from my hubs. Tonight is going to be awesomesauce; pizza and movies in our pajamas. I love pizza.
Before you ask, no, I will not have cake. I don’t love cake. I DO love pie. All kinds. Therefore, there will be pie, and perhaps a milkshake; no blood, though.
Now, if only someone could go back in time to when my love, Daniel Day, was shirtless, and running around the forest with Madeline Stowe. Oh, and someone get rid of Madeline Stowe.
Like you’re surprised I prefer a bare-chested warrior to Ryan Gosling. I am a total feminist with a real soft spot for alpha males. Well, alpha males with a heart of gold….If I couldn’t pick you as the winner of the barfight I didn’t want you to engage in, I’m not attracted to you. You just have to be able to WIN the fight, not start it.
Wow, that was quite the testosteron-y tangent. Back to health and well-being and whatnot. Although, I suppose Danny Day (it’s what I like to call him, he’s totes cool with it) kept himself in super shape to film LOTM.
I wonder if he has a sweet tooth. I bet he does. He looks the type. I bet he has a stash of dark chocolate dipped peeps in his freezer right now. It would be right beside the cadbury eggs and behind the bunny mallows. I may be projecting.
I have a SEVERE sweet tooth. In fact, I think I have a mouth full of sweet dentures. It pokes at me at all times of the day and night. I have taken to coming up with things that won’t kill me with crap, while still having some sort of healthy benefit.
Yesterday, I wanted peanut butter cookies. Dense, chewy, peanut butter cookies. I wanted them to overflow with rich peanut butter and fragrant vanilla. In came the idea of protein cookies. There are a lot of protein cookies in blogworld, but not so many pb ones. I knew THAT had to change. I plan on making a second batch this week, using pb2, but these had the real deal. Mostly because the Peanut still needs a crapton of extra cals and so does the Captain. My kids NEVER stop moving. I think the cop gets tired just watching the three of us.
Before I give you the recipe, as you will realize, we are on the last task of “National Celebrate Cat Week”.
Task #5 Make a real effort to keep moving today. Fidget, sit on a stability ball; stand and work. Just.keep.moving.

Peanut Butter Protein Cookies
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients (2 dozen cookies)
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup (rounded, not leveled) Optimum Performance Whey-vanilla

- 1/2 cup egg whites
- 1/3-1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
sidenote
- a lot of these proportions may need adjustment depending on the protein powder and peanut butter you use. You’re looking for a cookie dough consistency.

combine pb, egg whites, and sugar together in a mixer.
add oats and protein powder
scoop onto parchment lined cookie sheet 2″ apart
bake for 13-15 minutes

I’m definitely going to have to reconstitute it.
I am pretty sure Daniel Day Lewis LOVES pies, not other sweets. You know why? He wants to be just like YOU when he grows up, I mean, changes gender, um, has a birthday. Whatever. Just roll with it as it’s your b-day.
Happy Birthday! Those cookies look super incredible. A pizza and movie night is one of my favorite things – enjoy yourself

Enjoy your birthday.
I found your blog a couple of weeks ago and spent the weekend reading your archives! I also had gastric bypass – in 10/08 – so its nice to read a blog by a fellow wls-er!
Happy birthday, Cat! Have some vodka for me! (and pie!)
I’m still not up to hard liquor, so I’m hoping you’ll take care of your own bday toast & have some vodka for me. As soon as I’m able, I’ll drink some gin for you.
(I, too, love an alpha male who could win the fight he would never start – unless he was defending my honor. Someday I’ll post about the time the architect almost started a fight in full view of a dozen snipers.)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! i will refrain from singing. oh boy.. your birthday is on 4/20. it used to be my favorite holiday.
Have a fabulous Bday and “have some vodka for me”
Happy birthday! Can I come eat cookies with you?
