Is it just me, or does the “road to the olympics” NBC starts featuring right about now make anyone else feel woefully inadequate? The only thing I’m swimming in is student loan debt. The stroke you use is called “head mostly above water”.
Growing up, I used to LOVE watching gymnastics; so much so that I made my mother enroll me in classes. I was super effing cute in my care bear leotard and white tights. I was possibly the WORST student. No one tells you that if you’re 4, and already twice the size of Mary Lou Retton, you may want to pick a different sport. Every damn time I got on the balance beam, I felt like I was walking the plank. The CYC was a pirate ship, and Laura, my instructor, was the Dread Pirate Roberts. She’ll most likely kill me in the morning.
Every once in a while, I ask the cop to help me into a handstand position, this almost always ends very badly, very fast. I have no idea why I keep trying. I am piss poor at accepting failure. I’d make a GREAT stalker. (don’t look out your window.)
So, for today’s National Celebrate Cat Week, task 3 will be either super fun for you, or super awful. Make it what you will.
Task #3: Do Something Fearless, something you’ve been afraid would make you look silly, or you thought you’d never attempt or be able to do.
I am going to take a pole-dancing class. Yup. Imma gonna get up close and personal with a steel rod. I’m going to wear heels. I’m telling everyone my name is Meredith Vieira.
Until you are living outside your comfort zone, you aren’t really living. I am not content with mere survival, and neither should you be.
On to the rest of the post.
Happy What I Ate Wednesday, brought to you by the slowest reader ever, Jenn. (hahaha-inside joke) It’s still the veg-pledge, adding a cup of veg to your day, every day. I am ROCKIN it. What my pic won’t show, is the giant salad I consumed before I remembered to take a picture of it. It was super delicious.
breakfast was date oatmeal and a banana, lunch was an egg white and veggie omelet, veggies on the side, with Ezekiel bread, dinner was cabbage, ground “beef” with ginger, garlic, and oyster sauce, and coconut rice, snack was the protein breakfast cake awesomeness about to befall you.
