His Mouth Runs Like A Pigeon’s Butt.

First of all, I’d like to thank Christine from Oatmeal In My Bowl for featuring my chocolate oatmeal cookie recipe on her blog today!

Have any of you watched “Hillbilly Handfishing” or “Lizard Lick Towing”? They are quite the cinematic accomplishment. In spite of their less-than-stellar concepts, the shows are good for one thing: peculiar southern sayings and analogies.

Such as:

“if my stacks of bills were pancakes; I could feed the hungry for months”

“I’m fine as frog hair”

“He’s busier than a one-legged man in a butt kickin contest”

“He’s uglier than the east end of a horse headed west.”

Why oh why don’t we have sayings like this in NYC? For once I’d like to hear some real, dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker turn around and say “his mouth runs like a duck’s butt” Though, I think in NYC, you’d have to change duck to pigeon.

What are most of our sayings like? Especially as a runner? “Run like you stole something.” For real. That’s a saying. Or “Eat like you’re not on a diet” or “wear it like its Prada”. Oh NYC, you are charming in so many other ways, this just isn’t one of them.

Also, we don’t spend nearly enough time drinking lemonade on our porches. Oh wait, does knocking back martinis on a hotel roof count? We have the market cornered on that one.

Speaking of running, today is a GLORIOUS day to run. Right under 50F, only the most gentle of wind, sunlight shining bright. Captain Crazypants and I have a date with the road. After that date with the road, we have a date with LEFTOVER PIZZA!! heck.yes.

To fuel us for our run, we had an AMAZING breakfast.
