I love my husband. I love him dearly, but he is the BIGGEST baby when he’s sick. I am fairly certain this applies to
most all men, and I don’t get it. Seriously, a cold requires a bubble to live in, soup that is spoon fed to you and perfectly warmed, and just a little bit sweet tea. I think he’s going to go huddle over a humidifier with his tea and soup in his bubble later. Really, it’s cute (almost.) I should take a picture or video and post it to YouTube.
I AM keeping him away from our food and our kids. Purely because I can only take care of one sick baby at a time. Three would irritate me a little, and I’d surely blame the cop, just for funsies. If I get sick and can’t go running, I turn into the succubus. Horns and all. Only, I bake. I don’t think the succubus bakes. Well, maybe she has to bake that can of whoopass.
I bake. I bake a lot. Especially right now. In my antiseptic tent, I baked batch 4 of my 30 batches before Christmas. I really need to get my lazy blogging as$ on making a page for these. I’ll get to it, I’ll get to it.
Batch 4. Chocolate crinkles.
- 1 C cocoa (NOT dutch process!!)
- 2 C sugar (I use superfine)
- 1/2 canola oil
- 4 eggs
- 2 t vanilla
- 2 C flour
- 2 t baking powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar-for coating
Preheat oven to 350F Mix sifted cocoa, sugar, and oil together. Beat in eggs one at a time, stir in vanilla, sift in remaining dry ingredients (save for confectioner’s sugar). Chill dough for 30 minutes, use a one inch scoop and roll in confectioner’s sugar and bake 2″ apart.
